Rumor check
Has Amanda spoken about the 2025 allegations? Once, in February 2025, when she said she believes her husband and supports him fully.

Justin Tucker is back in an NFL building. On October 28, 2026, the Kansas City Star reported that the Chiefs are adding him to their practice squad, while starter Harrison Butker sits at 11 of 16 on field goals [1]. So who is the Justin Tucker wife fans keep asking about? Her name is Amanda Bass Tucker, and she has been with him since their first year at the University of Texas [5].

They got engaged in Baltimore in 2013 and married in Texas in 2015. A year later they had a son [3][4][7]. When Tucker faced misconduct claims in 2025, Amanda put out a short statement backing him [12].

Below we walk through how they met, both versions of that story, the proposal, the wedding, his parents and faith, and where the family stands today. We only use what the couple, the team or major outlets have put on the record. Their son is a minor, so we don’t name him.

Why Justin Tucker is trending again

Tucker had not been on any active roster or practice squad since Baltimore let him go in May 2025. That changed on Wednesday, when Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star reported the Chiefs deal [1] [2].

The timing is about Butker. He is one of the most accurate kickers ever, yet he has made only 11 of his 16 tries this year, and just 2 of 6 from 50 yards or more [1] [2].

Pro Football Rumors, citing Tom Pelissero, says Tucker hit all 30 kicks in his Kansas City tryout. A practice squad spot is not a starting job, though. Butker is still the No. 1 kicker for now [2].

Before this, Tucker had tried out with the Saints and the Colts in late 2025 and again in July 2026, and worked out for the Jets in September. None of them signed him [13].

Who is Justin Tucker wife Amanda Bass Tucker?

Amanda grew up in Texas, like her husband. In a 2018 family interview with Chesapeake Family Life, the couple said they had both had a happy childhood there and wanted the same for their own son [5] [12].

She keeps a low profile. Heavy reported in May 2025 that her Instagram is private and that she has no public social media. She has been seen at games, but she rarely speaks to the press [12].

When she has spoken, it has been about family. She said both their parents were closely involved when they were growing up, and that she and Justin share the parenting the way her own mom and dad did [5].

“I think Justin changes more diapers than I do!” [5]

We could not find a reliable source for her job, her exact birthday or her parents’ names, so we have left those out. You may see them on other sites. We have not been able to check them.

How they met, and the two versions of the story

Both agree on the basics. They were freshmen at UT Austin in 2008, and they stayed together through all of college [3] [5].

The details shift a little depending on who tells it. In 2013, Justin told WJZ in Baltimore that they met “at a bus stop on campus,” and that “eventually I grew on her” [6].

In 2018, Amanda said a friend introduced them at freshman orientation. Both could be true. A first hello at orientation and a real conversation at a bus stop is a very college way to start. We are not going to pick one [5].

One line from Justin sums up those years. “Amanda didn’t really care that I was low on the football totem pole at the time,” he joked. He was a kicker who was not invited to the Senior Bowl or the Combine, and no team drafted him in 2012 [5] [13].

A pool deck proposal with a rock band

By late 2013, Tucker was a Super Bowl champion and the couple had been together five years. He told the Ravens website he had once pictured proposing on the 50 yard line after a game winning kick in the Super Bowl. Three seconds later, he decided that was “a terrible idea” [3].

What he did instead was still big. In early November 2013 they had dinner at Wit and Wisdom in the Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore. Tucker said he was going to the restroom and slipped up to the pool deck [3].

Amanda was brought up for what she thought was dessert. She found a path of candles, the city skyline, and two members of the Baltimore band All Time Low singing Train’s “Marry Me.” He gave a speech, went down on one knee, and she said yes [3].

“She knows me better than anybody and I know her better than anybody.” [3]

His favorite part? “She didn’t even look at the ring,” he said. He also hired the team photographer to hide in the bushes and take pictures [3].

The wedding in Texas Hill Country

They married on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Ma Maison in Dripping Springs. The venue is about an hour from Austin, where they had gone to school [4].

Several Ravens made the trip. Quarterback Joe Flacco and center Jeremy Zuttah came, along with special teams coordinator Jerry Rosburg and kicking consultant Randy Brown [4].

The two All Time Low members from the proposal were there too. The team blog said Tucker was emotional all day [4].

Justin Tucker kids, one son and a dad first rule

The couple have one child, a son born on May 10, 2016. The Ravens shared the news a few days later [7] [13].

Tucker talks about fatherhood often. In 2024 he told Baltimore’s Child that when he became a parent, “I became we.” He also said it is “dad first,” and football is “something that we all get to enjoy together” [8].

He joked in the same interview that he wasn’t sure he was even his own son’s favorite player. He said his son’s face lights up when he gets to meet players like Lamar Jackson [8].

On sports, they said in 2018 that they would not push him into football. Amanda said kids need room to just be kids, and that they would back him even if he picked something far from what his parents do [5].

Justin Tucker parents Paul and Michelle, and his Catholic faith

Justin Paul Tucker was born in Houston on November 21, 1989, and grew up in Austin. He played at Westlake High School, where Nick Foles was a teammate [13].

His parents are Paul and Michelle Tucker. He told the National Catholic Register in 2013 that both are Catholic and that he was “raised in the Church from birth” [9].

That is where the sign of the cross comes from. He makes it before every kick, and said he thanks God before and after each attempt [9] [13].

His dad shaped his work ethic too. At 15, Tucker was told that being good at many things takes a lot of hard work, and being the best at one thing takes the most. “That really stuck with me,” he said [5].

Football came later. He started in eighth grade after years of soccer, when someone told him he could score points for kicking a ball that hard. He has said his parents drove him to everything he asked to try [5].

The opera singing kicker

Music runs in the family as well. Tucker says his mom is musical and his dad loves music. He started on trumpet in his middle school band [5].

At Texas he moved from communications toward music. He needed a main instrument to audition, so he chose his voice. He trained as an opera singer, sings in seven languages and finished a music degree a semester early to prepare for the draft [5] [13].

In Baltimore he sang “Ave Maria” at a 2015 Catholic Charities benefit. Later he won the NFL’s Most Valuable Performer talent show with it, which sent $50,000 to the Baltimore School for the Arts [13].

At home, it is simpler. Amanda said in 2018 that their son loved it when Justin picked up the guitar and sang to him [5].

The misconduct allegations and suspension, in brief

This part matters for the family story, so here are the facts without spin. In January 2025, The Baltimore Banner reported claims from massage therapists about Tucker’s conduct during sessions. By the time of the NFL ruling, 16 therapists from eight Baltimore area spas had made accusations covering 2012 to 2016 [10] [13].

Tucker denied the claims from the start. In a February 2025 statement he called them “simply not true,” and also said “to anyone who has felt otherwise, I am sorry” [11].

The Ravens released him on May 5, 2025. On June 26, the league suspended him without pay for the first 10 weeks of the 2025 season under its personal conduct policy. He did not appeal [10].

What Amanda said

Amanda gave one short statement to OutKick in February 2025, which Heavy later reported [12].

“I believe my husband, and I love and support him fully.” [12]

His agent’s statement after the suspension leaned on family too. It said Tucker is “deeply dedicated” to his roles “as a father, husband, and friend” [10].

Our take

We report what was alleged, what he said and what the league did. We don’t judge the claims ourselves. We also found nothing new from Amanda since that statement, so we won’t guess how the family feels about Kansas City [12].
